Fundación Juanfe is the result of the vision and determination of Catalina Escobar, who decided to dedicate her life to breaking the cycle of poverty affecting so many adolescent mothers in Colombia. Since its inception, Juanfe has transformed the lives of thousands of young women, offering them the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their families.
Cata has demonstrated that love, compassion, and determination can overcome even the greatest challenges. Over the years, Juanfe has implemented health, education, and economic empowerment programs for adolescent mothers through our 360° Model. These programs not only improve the quality of life for these young women and their children but also provide them with the tools they need to become self-sufficient and move forward on their own.
One of the most inspiring stories is that of María, a young woman who arrived at Juanfe in a state of extreme vulnerability. María had become a mother at the age of 16 and was left without family support or financial resources. Through the 360° Model of Juanfe, she received medical care, psychological support, and vocational training. Today, María is a successful entrepreneur who supports her family and has become a role model for other young women in her community.
Catalina Escobar has been internationally recognized for her work, receiving numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious CNN Heroes award. Her story and the story of Juanfe have been a source of inspiration for many, demonstrating that it is possible to make a significant impact when working with passion and dedication.
In the “Aprendamos Juntos” space by BBVA, our president Catalina Escobar had the opportunity to share her experiences and insights about the impact of Juanfe. In this talk, Cata not only recounted the challenges and achievements of the Foundation but also inspired others to get involved and contribute to this noble cause.
